At the Laborer’s Training Facility in Exton, PA, the existing analog video surveillance system was starting to show signs of its age—not just in terms of image quality, but in terms of functionality as well. While some of the older units had begun to fail, other existing analog cameras were still suitable. Thus, the company sought a solution that would incorporate a portion of their existing analog system with a new, more modern IP camera set-up. The Laborer’s Training Facility’s aging intercom entry system featured only one lock-release button, and no video surveillance of the entranceway that would allow employees to verify who they were buzzing in. The sole release button meant that workers had to stop work and walk to the button’s location to buzz in a guest.
With their needs and requirements defined, the Laborer’s Union Training Facility reached out to Haverford Systems to bring new life to their aging surveillance system. After careful consideration, Haverford Systems designed a system that would enable the existing analog cameras to coexist with modern upgrades to IP cameras. Haverford Systems replaced the existing intercom system with a new, video-based system that incorporated release buttons in three separate locations, and provided video surveillance of both building entrances.
